2009 Kilimanjaro Expedition

Under honorary patron Nathalie Lambert, Joints in Motion is the national fund-raising campaign program of The Arthritis Society, which offers members the chance of training with a view to taking part in sporting activities.
From September 25 through October 6, 2009, 13 participants will be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. Bearing a crown of eternal snow, the Majestic Kilimanjaro, which is also known as the "House of God" among neighbouring tribes, dominates the African plains unlike any other mountain. Located in Tanzania (Africa), it is without a doubt one of the most impressive sites in the world. The expedition will reach Africa's rooftop through the Machame route.
Participants have each committed to collecting $8,500 in honour of their arthritis hero, an individual who will probably never get the chance to embark on such an adventure. The collected monies will allow the funding of research programs and services for patients of The Arthritis Society.
